I'm proud of each of my inlays whether it's the second, fifth or twentieth but each inlay that I finish has a habit of instantly becoming my favourite & that is certainly true again with this one, I love this inlay
Meanwhile, back at the workshop...
Have been working on this diving kingfisher inlay this week & although I do prefer to work with wood I must admit that a bit of bling is nice too...
Design scans
Have spent the last few nights putting my printer to good use by scanning all of my inlay designs....here are some pictures of my inlay designs that I scanned with my printer over the last few nights......
"Would you like to look at my wood-joining jig father?". "No. Thank you Mrs Doyle, I'm fine". "Ahh, go on, go on, go on, go on"...
Ok, not very interesting I must admit but this is a blog about inlay work after all!
I made myself this new jig for joining wood this week, should come in handy for future pieces.
All work & no play makes Jack a dull boy...
Been a busy week.....Finished scraping back my second Johnny Cash inlay on Monday night, had a satisfied customer come into the Brook workshop to pick up his Lowden guitar with it's newly inlaid Spaniel headstock design on Tuesday.
Then it's back to the day job again, have been working on this Ian Anderson, Manson traveller mother of pearl & ebony rosette today
Saturday night's alright for inlaying...
So, it's saturday night. What have you been doing? I have mostly been inlaying because that is what I do...
Here are a few pictures of the new Cash design that I started working on today
