BOB MARLEY

My inlayed version of the classic Bob Marley picture is made using beli sapwood, maple for the shirt and teeth, highlights are bog oak and the background is lacewood

Size: 175x 85x 10mm

LEE 'SCRATCH' PERRY

Another reggae legend here, genius producer Lee 'Scratch' Perry. Quilted mahogany, walnut, beli with red padauk and some beautifully smokey maple are used against a spalted oak background

DAVID BOWIE

Based on a picture taken from his 'thin white duke' period, this inlay uses beli sapwood and maple against ebony. The hair is yew

Size: 175x 85x 10mm

JIMI HENDRIX

My inlaid version of the classic Jimi picture, cut from ebony, lacewood and beli

Size: 175x 85x 10mm

JAMES BROWN

As soon as I saw this picture I thought that it would make a great inlay, it was based on a black and white photo so I don't actually have any idea of the original colours of his suit, I decided that a light creamy white maple should go with a bubinga red shirt

Size: 175x 85x 10mm

JOHNNY CASH

If you would like to know a whole lot more about how this inlay was made, head over to the Inlays for dummies section

Size: 175x 85x 10mm

JOHNNY CASH 2

This second Johnny cash design is cut from a single piece of beautifully grained spalted beech wood, inlaid into ebony

Size: 175x 85x 10mm

MUDDY WATERS

This inlay of blues legend Muddy Waters is cut from quilted mahogany and cherry

Size: 175x 85x 10mm

MUDDY WATERS 2

This inlay was a private commission for a friend, the design was based on one of Muddy's album covers and the inlay itself contains a selection of some very highly figured pieces of mahogany framed in beli with an ebony border
