They provide a great subject for my work and the natural colours of the yew and maple that I use matches well to the real thing… That being said, they take me ages! On all of these jaguar/ leopard designs each and every spot is individually cut

This leopard design is made up of well over two hundred individually cut pieces and took me around thirty-five hours to complete. The leopard is yew, maple and ebony with a spalted maple background. This inlay is framed in highly quilted mahogany with an ebony border. Size: 164x 164x 13mm

This second square tiger design again uses some beautiful yew and maple along with ebony for the fur, the eyes and teeth are beli sapwood, the nose, tongue and gums are myrtle. I designed this inlay digitally on my iPad instead of drawing it out by hand - it took ages! but i’m really happy with the level of detail i’ve been able to achieve. Size: 164x 164x 13mm
